Poetry

I have been writing poetry for many years, inspired initially by teachers, and subsequently by my uncle Charles, who translated Pushkin and Lermontov. He also wrote personal pieces that run counter to his rather academic, austere character as a professional diplomat. In my singing career I have worked on songs in European languages, French, German and Italian, but my great love is the poetry set by late C19th and C20th composers, such as Vaughan-Williams, Somervell and Britten. There is a link to a CD on the singing page. I have recently started a Masters Degree at the Creative Writing department at UEA.
